High Mark Plumbing has state-of-the-art water main replacement in Coquitlam. A water main is the line that brings water into your home – whether it is from a city utility source or from your own well. At one time, replacing a water main meant a lot of digging. But, in most cases, those days are past.
A water main can now be easily replaced or installed using new technology, and two relatively small holes. The first hole is dug near the water source – usually the water main hook up near the street, but it could also be a hook-up near a water well. The second hole is dug near the foundation of the home at the entry point for the primary water supply for the household system. A borer on a powered line is then sent from one point to the other, pulling a slender line with it. The pull line is then attached to a flexible water main, and pulled back through the aperture created by the borer. All that remains at this point is to attach fixtures to the ends of the lines, and then to hook them up to the water source and to the house system. Turn on the water and – voila! Water for drinking, washing up, bathing and more available at the turn of a faucet.
