High Mark Plumbing would like to help you make sure your water heaters in Vancouver are well-maintained. We know that there is nothing so satisfying as a good, hot shower or a soak in a tub full of bubbles at the end of a long day at work. Hot water from the tap also saves time and labor when doing dishes or general cleaning. One hundred twenty years ago, many homes lacked this simple amenity; and there are places in the world that still do not have running water, let alone heated running water, in homes.
However, you want a well-behaved water heater in your home or place of business. It should produce hot water on-demand, have a working safety valve and overflow drain, and get the sludge cleaned out of it at least once yearly. Also, there is this long metal rod called an anode rod that attracts the corrosion that normally collects inside a water heater. The corrosive elements in the water go after the rod, instead of attacking the lining of the water heater – thus prolonging the life of the heater. However, the anode rod is eaten up over time, and needs to be replaced periodically. If you have a gas heater, you will want to get the pilot light or ignition assembly checked as well.
At High Mark Plumbing we know about the hundreds of uses for hot water – from washing hands before returning to your work station, to cleaning dishes in a busy restaurant or washing linens for a motel. If your hot water heaters in Vancouver are due for a check-up, give us a call at (604)945-6060. We will be glad to send one of our well-trained plumbers to make sure that your water heater is doing its job.
